Best of the Web: Random Goodies
When I did my first “Best of the Web” post, I had so much fun!! I’m back again for round two. Leave some love for the bloggers I share, will ya? Thanks! xo
1-Carolyn at Svellerella shares some fun and useful tips about photo apps. I already knew some, but I learned a sweet trick about my favorite app, VSCOcam! Thanks, Carolyn!
2-I found out that there are computer and tablet apps/websites for kids, which teach coding and programing. HOW COOL IS THAT?! I mean, in this crazy digital computer age we live in, what a sweet thing for kids to be able to play and learn skills like that? I downloaded a few and plan to have my kids play around. Seriously, we’re getting nerdy up around here. 😉 Check out this list for 7 suggested apps and sites. Some are free!
3-A beautiful recipe for Mixed Berry Sangria. Perfect for summer parties–such as 2 birthdays in our family on the 4th of July!
4-Moving right along, from sangria to prayer… It’s just how I roll. My train of thought is wild.
I read this neat blog about How to Pray, which was/is so timely for me. My priest recently told me to find more silence and solitude for prayer, and this post just hit the mark for *how* I will spend my time in prayer. I think you should read it. It’s about leaving behind the prayer books and things, and just being with God, talking and listening.
5-Have you seen Happy Saints yet?
They are adorable illustrated depictions of the saints. Now the creator is trying to gain enough interest and funds to create a printed set! Do check it out. I love them. And I’ve put some towards the campaign for printed saint cards. They’re the perfect teaching tool for all families!

And, because I think this one is such good advice, a bonus:
6– Reasons to have older kids take a “rest time” every day. Pretty sure we’ll be starting this tomorrow (because our afternoon is already gone today).
Gina, thanks for linking to my rest-time post! I’m SO glad that you left the second comment over there b/c until then I hadn’t realized you’d already made your switch. I’d been waiting all this time for posts from you thinking the new site wasn’t up and running, and in reality I was missing good stuff! Now I can spend the evening getting caught up over here. I like to new look! – Theresa
Ah, thanks!! Maybe I need to make a quick post over at the old site, just in case. In fact, I probably forgot. Thanks for the heads-up!
