Embrace the Ordinary, 2016 vol.2

The story of my life: wake up, plan for greatness, within hours find that God’s plan for greatness is world’s different than my own.

Today I was awake by 6am, prayed in bed while nursing the baby, downstairs by 6:30 to make coffee and clean the microwave, get a good head-start on the day…

And then I heard the yell.

My Firecracker woke up whimpering and then yelling, sick. Little dude has a fever and feels like poo.

And so today, instead of taking care of the house (all the clutter!) and getting out for a walk and going to Adoration, I am snuggling my sick little guy in between homeschool math lessons and making lunch.

Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, pray for me! Help me to embrace the calling of *this* day, to leave the chores and comfort the sick. Help me to better see Christ in my suffering child, and serve him with love and tenderness instead of grumbling about my missed workout, and snapping about the sick whining.
