Embrace the Ordinary, March 2018

Quiet (or not–rowdy boys are rarely quiet) homeschool mornings. Chickadee is nearing the end of 8th grade and I sometimes catch my breath just glimpsing the young lady she is becoming. A few weeks ago, she baked a chocolate cake and invited her friends over to share it. She and her best friend still like to call it a “play date”, not “hanging out”. Please oh please keep some of that sweet innocence for much longer.

Sweet Pea chalked up the driveway with this incredible dolphin, then joined her brothers in a mess-fest, grinding chalk and then adding water to it to make some paint, which they made hand and foot prints with all over.

Small Fry does anything and everything the big boys do. His favorite thing lately is the balance bike. That’s a fun thing; him trying to sneak away and play with the boys’ games and climb the pantry shelves to munch on candy is not fun.

Hopefully I’ll have more posts like these, with the little moments that build up memories, and more posts about school and prayer and running soon!
