Gimme a Break

…gimme a break, break me off a piece of that KitKat bar!

Do you remember that jingle? It always made me feel like the treat of having–and sharing–a candy bar actually *was* a break from routine, a time to reconnect with a friend or sibling maybe, a time to step away from everything else and savor a bit of sweetness.

I need a break. The season of Advent just happens to be a perfect time to take a break, and so I’m going to be stepping away from blogging for Advent, and will return sometime after Christmas. Perhaps I’ll have settled into a better groove, and have a few more spare minutes I can devote to blogging again. Maybe I’ll have renewed my writing voice. Maybe not–it may be that God will call me away from the blog.

Lord, I pray today that you wake me up. Make me alert, aware of the ways you are moving in and around me, of the way the world is changing because your Kingdom in near and our Savior has come. Let me be a redemption seeker and a grace collector and mercy dispenser with the same vibrant expectancy with which I seek the signs of the changing seasons, collect their bounty and dispense their joy.

Let this be the season of joyful awareness, Lord, in which I see you wondrously unfolding your glory in the most intimate of ways all around me. And then move me, Lord, to proclaim your Kingdom with words that true and strong, words that will not pass away because they are Your Word, at work in our world and in my heart. –Colleen Mitchell, for Blessed Is She, Nov. 27, 2015

I pray that you all have a blessed Advent. Pray for me, as well. I’m still going to be posting here and there on my FB page. Thank you for all the support and comments in the last year. I’ve been touched by each one of you!
