Happy Saints: An Awesome Teaching Tool
Did you see my first mention of Happy Saints the other day?
I’m back to talk about the darling saints some more. For a few years now, I’ve been loving the sweet illustrations and short teachings about the saints that Victor Teh so lovingly creates. For example, just last week he shared a post with St. Thomas.
Neat, right? He has a phrase that not only defines part of his relationship with Christ, but is also a beautiful, short, and simple praise we can teach our children! In the post, Victor also gives a short biography about why St. Thomas is important, what is special about him, and when his feast day is.
These are incredible teaching tools for us Catholic mamas! Whether or not you homeschool, you’re called to teach your child about the faith, and the saints are great friends to make along the way. You can browse the Happy Saints site for saints, you can buy e-books with entire collections of saints, or prayers, or Bible stories…you can be like me and squeal each time a new saint is posted, because not only are the illustrations friendly, adorable, and happy (as we know the saints are!), they are delightful and inspiring and FUN to share with my kids.
Which is why I am so excited that Victor is working on a campaign to bring the Happy Saints to life in a whole new way: Happy Saints A to Z.
Aren’t these cards great?? As a mother of small children, these are spectacular for the “A to Z” aspect. As a mother of children of any age, these are spectacular to teach about some of our friends in the Communion of Saints. As a homeschooling mother, these are fantastic tools I’ll be adding (hopefully!! Let’s make this campaign a success!!) to our learning about the saints. We might even choose new patrons. Check out the list of saints–there are some unique ones, which will become favorites, I’m sure!
So what is the campaign for? In Victor’s own words
The funds will go into design and production of the cards. There is a minimum quantity required for mass production and I need to know that there is sufficient demand for them. My target is to ship out the cards to all contributors before Christmas 2014. I have chosen the ‘All or Nothing’ option here, meaning that if this campaign doesn’t meet its funding goal of USD$5000, I will not receive anything and you will not pay anything. This is to ensure a minimum order quantity before going into production. Of course, it is my hope that it will go way beyond the minimum order!
Think about supporting the campaign. It ends on August 15. In the meantime, find Happy Saints on the blog and social media.
I really hope he meets his goal! Such a cool tool.
