Hospital Bag Must-Haves
It’s that time. Time to prepare what I can and have a solid list of what I need for my time in the hospital when Baby Fence #6 arrives.
It is time to pack my bag.
This is not such a difficult or daunting task. The daunting part is the reminder of how close I am to Baby’s arrival! Exciting, yes, but also can be nerve-wracking. I just never know how labor will go, when it will start…so, the unknown aspects (and, let’s face it, the known experience of labor) can make a girl anxious.
I started this post, and the packing, 4 days ago. You should know that I have since realized I could use some new nursing wear (nursing any child for over a year takes a toll on nursing wear, and some of my things have been used with mulitple babies), Baby could use possibly a few more onesies (blow-outs happen), and my iPod should be synced with my hypnobabies and not my running playlist.
Time to get busy and share this list of mine, and put the items in my bag.
My top picks for a hospital bag:
The bag itself. Can be any bag, but I choose my diaper bag. I have this one, which is fun and large for holding all kinds of gear,
but I think these are also pretty amazing.
Change of clothes for me. Comfy pants, nursing cami, sweater or shirt to throw on over the cami. Nursing pads optional.
Clothes for the babe. Onesie and pants, or onesie and leggings, socks, hat if you want. Now pack it again, you just never know when a baby might have a blowout.
Chapstick
Hair tie
Camera
Phone + charger
iPod or whatever mp3 player synched with hypnobabies + headphones
Essential oils for calming: Serenity and Valor, as well as Peppermint in case of nausea
New this pregnancy:
Honey sticks for a quick energy boost
My own soap, because hospital soap can be drying
An extra pair of clothes for myself, in case of blow-outs or messes or staying an extra night.
Essential oil for recovery: I chose PanAway for pain in my back, which I always have after delivery.
You’re ready!! You can do it!! 🙂
