It’s Here! The Long-Awaited Blessed Is She Advent Journal

| |

Did you read and pray with last year’s Blessed is She journal through Advent? I did, and loved it. I’m growing still in the habit of daily prayer and journaling, but last Advent as I sat with the journal in the early mornings, a habit started to develop in my heart. Now that we’re entering the fall season, the sunlight hours are shorter, and cooler air promises time for sweaters and scarves, I’m thrilled that all this also means that Advent awaits, not so far in the future.

Advent moves me. It’s such a beautiful season in the darkness, as we welcome light into our homes with strings of lights on trees and houses. The cool fall and winter days beckon us to sit and slow down, to cozy up with a hot cup of coffee (or tea or cocoa…or even mulled wine. yes, please…), and to warm ourselves from the inside out. Favorite books, Bible stories, cheerful holiday music–don’t they all brighten up the dark of our souls? Advent does this to me, it brings me to slow down and work on the coziness of my home life and my interior life.

And so now I’m beyond thrilled to introduce to you (along with all our team!), the 2017 Advent journal from Blessed Is She, called “In the Beginning“. (affiliate links. Thanks for helping me keep blogging on this platform with your purchases through my link!)

Written by Laura Fanucci, this year’s journal looks at the beginnings of the Gospels, and “God’s power bursting forth…” (from the introduction of the journal). Each day, there are words to read and pray with, a reflection, space to respond and journal, a challenge to act in some way to invite God more into our hearts, to let Him whisper into our being.

Not one for spoilers, I haven’t read the entire journal. I want to savor it fully during Advent. Still, I flipped through and read a few pages, already underlining a passage that struck me today. It’s not even Advent, but the words apply to my season of life now.

Be at peace, sister…God is unconcerned with what’s undone on your list. He only wants you.

I love it already. And, I’m excited to show you the other products being released as well. They’re lovely compliments to the journal, if you desire, or you can put it on a wishlist? I’m looking forward to replacing the print from Lent (yes, it’s still hanging in my computer/kitchen nook) with the text art print. And the campfire mug? Yes, please. (don’t judge, but I think this could be a good gift for anyone, not just women!) You can even buy a bundle for a discount in the shop.

Now I really have to be patient and wait for Advent. “There is wonder in the waiting.” I do hope you’ll pray with me again this Advent season, and with all the women in the Blessed Is She community! If you’d like more information, please ask me, or find the sisterhood on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter!
