The Epiphany/Blog Update Giveaway

A little over a year ago, I was making plans for homeschool when an idea came to me. I’d choose one book for each month to read with my kids, and review it on a blog. At the time, I had a personal blog, and used the “someday saints” title for another blog but didn’t really post much. It was a brave and crazy idea to me to start writing more regularly and make it public. The idea wouldn’t leave me alone, so I took the plunge.

It has been a fun year! I wrote about some books we read here and here and here (and realized I am not really a great book-blogger), shared tea-time ideas and recipes, attempted 31 days of blogging (never again!), raised awareness for my friend’s son, started a link-up, and shared my Christmas recipes. I confided how my plans don’t always go as planned and wrote an open letter to homeschool moms. Several posts published before I was ready. Some posts never published when I thought they would.

And look at you! You stuck it out with me! Or maybe you’re here for the first time, and I’m grateful you are. Thanks for being on this journey with me. Let’s have another good year, shall we? Let me know what you want to read more of…ramblings of homeschool life, how I just finally sat down over coffee to really simplify my meal planning after 9ish years of doing it, how I sewed a flannel sheet for my toddler’s bed? Maybe something else?

Because I wanted a reason to keep Christmas and gifting going (Happy Epiphany!), because you are supportive and great readers (I even made a local friend through the blog!), because it’s fun, because I prettied up this place, because it is Tuesday…I am throwing a giveaway!

In this giveaway bash are:

  1. I would love to see more posts about Embracing the Ordinary. Sometimes my need to get done takes over and I forget to Embrace my life at this moment.

    1. I missed that last week! I do the link-up (usually) every week, but I think I’ll try to at least toss in a few other posts here and there with real-life stories, too! Thanks!

  2. How could I choose?! I’ve been eyeballing the saint dolls and hoop necklaces and Feast book for awhile for sure! I also can never say no to some Jams! 🙂

  3. I’m pleased to have recently discovered you:) (thanks to Theresa)
I wouldn’;t be able to choose between Theresa’s dolls and Haley’s cookbook. Probably should be practical as the cookbook has ‘allergy’ options

  4. Oh my goodness… I love them all! I’m always up for a new cookbook, but I really think the hats are super cute (and I can never crochet the right size for a newborn for some reason:( and the saint doll would be great in our collection!

  5. Love what you’ve written about your home, practices within, how you integrate your Faith, and so forth. Embrace the Ordinary is great – perfectly short and focussed and a great reminder of how beautiful our lives are and how blessed.

Oh, and I got lost reading through some of your old posts yesterday when I meant to write this comment. What can I say? Too many good posts. Happy 1 year!

    1. Thank you!! I will definitely keep up with Embrace the Ordinary. I wonder how I can make it so more people want to participate?

  7. I have loved getting to know you through your blog and pray we do get to enjoy our blog friendship in person sooner than later! Also, I love Embrace the Ordinary because it keeps me present and mindful and I really enjoyed your 30-day blogging posts. All honest, lovely, encouraging, and good! Oh, and if I can enter this one I have Feasts but would love More Feasts, I heart all of Jenna’s stuff, and Theresa’s beautiful saint dolls, and I have yet to try jamberries so there’s that. 🙂 Hugs and love the new design changes!

  8. The first Embrace the Ordinary post is something I keep going back to. You put it so well, and boy do I need reminding.
