Women Encouraging Women: Jennifer’s Story

| |

This morning’s story comes from Jennifer, who reached out to me last month when I first shared the idea for this series. Her story is beautiful, simple, and a great reminder that the small things matter. In her story, I see friendship, acceptance, encouragement during change, and courage to start something new. Thank you, Jennifer, for sharing how Pam touched your heart and how you had courage to start a group in your new home town. Please enjoy Jennifer’s story in her own words!

We recently moved back to a small town in Oklahoma after spending almost five years in North DFW, TX. We had finally settled in to a wonderful church in Colleyville, TX. I joined the Mother’s group and immediately felt welcomed. You know how when you join a new group everyone already knows someone and they already have their own things they do together or things they’ve experienced together and sometimes you just kind of feel left out? Well, I get that a lot, but these ladies were different. Even though they had all known each other for years, they treated me like they wanted me there. One woman in particular was especially kind. Her name is Pam, and we quickly became great friends. She is such an inspiration to me! She is an awesome mother and wife, a gracious hostess, and super creative, among many other great qualities. I was so sad to move back to Oklahoma because my family finally felt at home in Texas. Pam was also sad, but she was also very encouraging and loved me through the whole process. God put it on my heart to start a Mom’s group here at our parish in Stillwater. It is really taking off! It’s something that many women here need. I know that God put her {Pam} in my life to give me courage to do this here. I’m just so thankful for her!

Jennifer also has a blog, where she shares about her life and how God gives mercy in trials, no matter how big or small. Please keep her, her family, Pam, and Jennifer’s new small group in your prayers.
